Coronavirus -AMHE ou association médicale haïtienne à l’étranger informe

 IMPORTANT Announcement:  Please Read Carefully...

Dear AMHE MEMBERS and Convention participants,

We are well aware of the negative impact that the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is having on the world and in our community in particular. The current epidemic is affecting everyone from Wall Street to main street, and it has generated legitimate concerns at all levels of society including the economy, the education system, travels, and night lives, as well as cultural activities, job creation, and public gatherings. The epidemic has already reached several countries and has caused a significant number of deaths in China, Italy, Iran, and South Korea.

Although significant progress is observed and major efforts have been made by countries and governments to contain the virus, little is known of its mode of transmission, the associated risk factors and the progression of the disease. The World Health Organization has now officically declared a pandemic as the virus continues unabated in its course and in its expansion toward reaching a far greater number of people than previously estimated.

Because it is hard to predict the course of the disease, people tend to either fall into fear and despair or embrace unfounded and imprudent optimism.

At the AMHE, we have decided to take a "wait and see attitude." While waiting, AMHE will continue with the process of registering participants and preparing itself for the July 2020 Convention, hoping that the spread of the virus will decrease by the Summer.  In a spirit of transparency and to better inform you, we have added a link to the CDC website on the Association Website to bring you the most accurate information regarding the progression of the virus. Additionally, we will hold informative sessions, as time progresses, to make you aware of the most updated developments. Rest assured that all efforts will be made to create the safest environment for the Convention.

Meanwhile, we encourage you to register for the Convention and to invite other colleagues and friends to join us at the 47th Annual AMHE Convention - July 25 - August 2, 2020, as we continue to monitor the situation on your behalf.

As of today, half of the hotel rooms have been purchased for the Convention and people are heading full gear into this annual AMHE gathering of this coming July Again, if you have not yet registered, we invite you to do it as soon as possible.

We look forward to continuing to serve you with the same determination as we have in the past.

May God Bless you all!

May he bless and protect your family and ours!!!!
